More than 450 buyers and
sellers packed the saleroom
at Romans' recent auction
of property and land.
Enthusiastic bidding resulted
in 12 of the 15 lots selling in
less than an hour.
Simon Clayton, Romans’
auctions director said, “The sale was our first of the year
and achievement of 80 per
cent of sales to lots exceeds
the national average. Canny
investors seem to have
identified that it is a good
time to buy, as evidenced
by one lot selling at 37 per
cent over its guide price. Additionally there were a
large number of bidders on the
bigger lots, with Burfield Road
selling for £470,000 – £20,000
above its guide price.
“We are experiencing a
big demand for residential
property at the moment.
Three properties that didn’t sell on the day have since
received considerable levels of
interest and we anticipate the
majority will sell within a few
days,” concluded Clayton.
