
Five years ago
this month,
leading floor
plan business,
Metropix,
launched into
the estate agency market and
hasn’t looked back.
Director
Brian Farrell (pictured), says,
“When Metropix launched,
floor plans were not commonly
used when marketing property;
it simply wasn’t commercially
viable. We identified a gap in
the market to offer a solution
that enables anyone to quickly
and easily draw floor plans at
a price which made sure they
could be included on every
property’s particulars – not
just on selected high value
homes. As a result, we quickly
became the market leader and
are now producing an average
of four floor plans every
minute of every working day.
We also recently won an award
in the Estate Agency Supplier
of the Year category at this
year’s Estate Agency of the
Year event – something we
were extremely proud of.”
Over the years Metropix has
added many new services
including 3D floor plans, 3D
walkthroughs, interactivity
and 3D plans within Google
Earth. They don’t intend
stopping there with
improvements to existing
services and new features.
So what’s next? “Our
services have expanded
internationally and we plan
to continue growing our
market penetration across all
regions. We estimate that
some 50 per cent of UK
properties are marketed with
a floor plan, so there is still a
lot of scope for us.” says Brian.
“Ultimately, floor plans
coupled with the upgrades we
offer continue to grow in
popularity with both buyers
and sellers and therefore help
our clients to easily and cost
effectively differentiate
themselves from that of their
competitors. This in turn helps
secure the very best new
instructions and assist in
maintaining or even increasing
fees.”
