Jon Hunt founded Foxtons, the London based estate agency, in the 1981 in Notting Hill. Over the following 26 years he built it up into one of the capital’s leading – and most controversial – agencies. In 2007 he sold Foxtons to the BC Partners for a reported £370 million. Since then he has been active as a principal investor in off-market UK property and land.
Clarmond is described as a wealth management boutique, founded in January this year by Christopher Andrew, who has known Jon for over 5 years and has been providing advice since the sale in 2007. Clarmond has already built up assets under management of $700m. Chris Andrew said, “Jon Hunt is the leading property investor of his generation, and his insight into that sector’s conditions and cycles is second to none. We are delighted to be working with him, and welcome him as our first non-executive adviser.”
Hunt said, “Chris Andrew is the only adviser I’ve ever had — and I’ve had a few! — who’s never shied away from telling me the truth. I’m not on any other advisory boards and don’t normally do this sort of thing, but I very much look forward to being part Clarmond’s advisory team as they build their business, which I strongly suspect will go from strength to strength.”
