Richard Copus Chairs
publication date: Sep 9, 2011
The Devon branch of the NAEA has elected Richard Copus as its Chairman. Richard says, “Last year was marked by the highly successful mini-conference held at Escot House just outside Exeter. This was the second year that the event has been held with some excellent speakers it was well attended by both NAEA and ARLA members”.
Richard, who is also an NAEA Divisional Council member, said that regional reorganisation would reduce the paperwork that Devon had to deal with and give committee members more time to organise productive meetings. Warwick would still fully fund meetings, so “plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose.”
Outgoing chairman David Fletcher presented a cheque for £200 to The Parkinson’s Society and Richard Copus chose Shelterbox as the branch charity for the forthcoming year. “NAEA branches are not just for continuing professional development,” said Richard. “In Devon we are all part a successful and friendly team, and helping the communities that we live and work in is part of the job.”
